Cartography love: a map based on population density

Design & Style

Derek Watkins is a cartography lover that has some interesting map work on his website. Based on the map designing principles of William Bunge he took off where he left things and worked on a simplified world map that is built upon the population density. It's an interesting experiment, you're able to see how the world's population is distributed and what the power countries are. It's an interactive map that you can adjust according the population per square kms, so for example the Americas are the first ones to go down as China and India overpopulated nations remain strong till the very end. Interesting project that puts in perspective how humans are distributed in the planet.
