Mexico City Logo Revealed

The logo for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Mexico 2011's host city, Mexico City, was revealed at a lavish event yesterday in the capital’s Old Town Hall. After speeches from many city officials, the official logo was revealed. The logo's design features the Angel of Independence and the Estadio Azteca. The Estadio Aztecacan be found on Paseo de la Reforma, one of Mexico’s City’s main avenues, is also a where soccer fans revel after a team win.

The colorful and decorative lines in the logo use the same pastel colors that are used for the Angel of Independence. The symbolism of the logo it the "momentum that has been gathering" since Mexico City was chosen as host for FIFA U-17, and which will "continue to build inexorably all the way through to the final on 10 July."

Alejandro Rojas, Tourism Secretary said “We want to show just how hospitable the Mexican people are, and this event will be important for getting that message across."
