Creating 3D Superman Logo
Since the "S" was a separate element from the diamond frame, we gave both the "S" and the frame special and separate attention. We designed the "S" in a much more inflated look than previous 3D Superman logo designs. We had no pre-requisite or limitation on how we should design, so we gave ourselves plenty of freedom to create in our own style. The chiseled "S" look was not the first time that it was designed that way, but our version looks quite different from the past designs. The frame has its own design characteristics as well, but not so different from the "S." These two elements work together very well.
The Evolution of the Superman Logo
The Superman logo, featuring the iconic "S" shield, is arguably one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. But did you know that the design of the logo has evolved over the years? In this post, we'll look at the history of the Superman logo and how it has changed throughout the years.
The first Superman logo was created by Superman's co-creator Joe Shuster. The design was inspired by the shield of the American flag and featured an "S" that was clearly inspired by the Roman letter "S." This logo made its debut in Action Comics #1, the first comic book to display Superman, in 1938. The logo was simple and clean, with the "S" being the main focus.
In the 1940s, the logo began to evolve. The "S" started to fit a little more in shield, the letter was expanding in design and touching the diamond frame.
In the 1950s, the Superman logo version become the definitive template in the rest of the modern Superman logo designs. The way the "S" fit itself with the frame is continues to this day.
In the 1980s, the Superman logo became more cartoonish with their design and colors. The bright red and Yellow was used instead of dark red and less bright yellow.
In the 2000s, the Superman logo evolved to more stylized sharper look and continues to this day.
Today, the Superman logo remains one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. The design of the logo has evolved over the years, but the iconic "S" shield remains the same. It symbolizes hope, strength, and justice that has stood the test of time.
The Superman logo has undergone many changes, but the iconic "S" shield remains the same. From its simple and clean design in the 1930s to a more stylized and modern look in the 2000s, the logo has adapted to the changing times, but it's still one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. The Superman logo will always be associated with hope, strength, and justice that has stood the test of time.
