Beautiful Findings: Vintage Christmas Inspiration

December 10, 2012

Still looking for some inspiration to get started with the holidays’ spirit? Well, it’s always nice to look back on our past and where the traditions come from. In this case, Jennifer from Letterology has created a very good collection of toy catalogs from yore, some of them Christmas catalogs. It’s funny how times have evolved into different aesthetics and how some of them tend to come back in current trends. Some of these catalog covers feature figurative illustrations while others have a more avant-garde look with their simpler figures and use of color (I specially like the little Santas working in their workshop!). You can check out the rest of the series in the source, which also includes background on some of the pieces. I hope this helps to get you in the mood for holiday season and maybe even some presents!
