London 2012 Snippets: Royal Mail Gold Medal Stamps

August 14, 2012

To commemorate the end of the Olympics, the Royal Mail released their collection of stamps that feature this year's gold medalists of the GB team. The 29 gold medals earned by the British team were won in cycling, rowing, canoeing, shooting, sailing, tennis, taekwondo, athletics, triathlon, equestrian and boxing- a quite impressive performance for the hosts. The stamps feature a picture of each athlete with golden applications to glorify their triumph. Just like the stamps released to celebrate the beginning of the Games, this edition is a nice souvenir to honor the champions the classical, old school way.
