Motorola is releasing the Xoom tablet on Feb. 24, and it is the first iPad competitor to run Honeycomb, which is anew version of Google's Android operating system designed especially for tablets. Much like the iPad, the Xoom has a 10-inch screen, and is approximately the same thickness and weight as the iPad, just a tiny bit narrower and longer. They haven't done much of a stretch as far as design goes, from a distance, you would think you were looking at an Apple product.

The Xoom has a slightly better processor than the current iPad; front and rear cameras as well as slightly better speakers; and higher screen resolution. Of course, this is all in comparison to the current iPad, which will likely meet its successor later this month.

Also, the Xoom has access to very few applications at the moment, with the iPad having over 60,000 apps available, and that grows everyday. The Xoom is also not competitively priced against the iPad, which is a bold move by the company. And if you were hoping to be able to play Flash video, which at CES was a major Android selling point, you're going to have to wait awhile, because it won't work on the Xoom at launch.
