Dorothy, a Manchester ad agency, is showing a series of paintings that would appeal to any graphic design aficionado. The paintings show iconic corporate logos, but stripped of the type and lettering that usually accompany the image, leaving the minimalist shapes behind.
The project is called You Took My Name and so far the designs created are being displayed on acrylic-on-canvas paintings. Dorothy’s Ali Johnson said about the project “We like it when art and consumerism collide. We liked the idea of taking something we see everyday like a corporate mark and turning it something that is an artwork in its own right.”
