The New York Times Magazine is celebrating their innovation issue by inviting different designers to create their own logo versions in what they've called Who Did What To Our Logo. Four different designs were selected for the issue but you can found more of them inside the magazine. Such an iconic newspaper like The New York Times takes it seriously when it comes to their brand, so the selected logos are quite worth it. The chosen designs are all typography-centered, creating very interesting looking covers.
The runner-ups also are quite interesting. Some of them step outside the typographic/purely-visual modification and go for reinterpretations of the brand. From colorful logos, to beam-shooting cats, a lot of different styles are part of the proposals. They all share a playful quality with the occasional wink to pop-culture references or even some internet memes.
