It appears that Google may be updating the the logo of its browser, according to a report from CNet's Steven Shankland. A change in the public source code repositories of Google's Chromium browser has seen this new logo, showing off different shades of blue, change from the 3D object into this two dimensional logo.
Peter Beverloo noted that a new logo came along with Chromium, the open-source underpinnings of Google's closed-source Chrome browser. All Chromium and Chromium OS releases have had a light blue logo while the Chrome and Chrome OS releases had more colorful design patterns, to distinguish between the official Google releases and their open source code project.
