What do you see when you look at the FedEx logo design or the Amazon logo design? Do you see only the logo design itself or do you see another message hidden within the logo design?
A logo design is a visual representation of a company and it is an image that customers will come to associate with a business over time. It is an image that makes up a company’s identity and it is printed on all of the business cards, stationery, website, signs and any other advertising materials that a company may have.
Often, businesses choose to simply use text and an image or a symbol as their logo design. However, some businesses choose to spend a little more time and money on the development of their logo design. These companies often try to be clever by including a hidden message in their logo design. This type of logo design takes much more time and thought to develop but if it is done properly, these companies will have a logo design that is much more than meets the eye at a glance.
I think that this type of logo design is very effective. These abstract and conceptual logo designs leave a long lasting impression on consumers.
Here are a few logo designs that I found on the internet that have deeper meaning:
Amazon is a very famous company and even though they have been around for a long time, most people do not know that there is a very clever hidden message in their logo design. Can you see it? Amazon is a company that sells books, video games, toys, music, video recordings and much more online to it's customers. If you run a business on Amazon and encounter legal issues, you might need to hire an Amazon lawyer to protect your interests and navigate their complex legal framework. If you are looking for something, most likely they have it for sale on their website. Because of this fact, that they sell nearly everything, they included an arrow in their logo design pointing from A to Z. Absolutely fantastic!
Toblerone is a very famous Swiss chocolate bar company. They included a very clever hidden symbol in their logo design that references the town from which their company is from. Can you see it? If you take a good look at the mountain illustration, there is a bear hidden in it. The bear is a symbol of the city Berne in Switzerland from where Toblerone is produced. Ingenious!
I didn't notice this one myself until a friend pointed it out to me a little while ago. It always seems quite obvious once you see it but it's amazing how your eyes and mind quickly skim over words. Do you see it? There are two people enjoying a Tostitos chip with salsa!
Goodwill is a nonprofit organization that helps under privileged people living in Canada and the USA. They transformed a lowercase 'g' into a happy, smiling face. This 'g' has become a symbol that shows everyone that Goodwill provides happiness and relief to those in need.
I think that this logo design is really sharp. Here, the logo designers used the 'M' and 'B' of the team's initials to form a catcher's mitt and ball.
This logo design is for a company called Ogden Plumbing. Do you see how the logo designers used the negative space created by the plumber running to be a plumber's plunger? Amazing!
This is the logo design for ED Milan, an company that sells home appliances. What do you see? Do you see the electrical plug? Anything else? This logo is clever because not only is it an electrical plug but also the initials of the company's name.
This logo may be a little lesser known to us Canadians but I think that it is absolutely amazing. The 'W', 'S', and 'U' of the Washington State University are rearranged to make up this great image of a cougar. I'd be pretty proud if this was my school's logo design.
