Typographic Love: Hitchcock's Collection Re-Designed

Design & Style

After buying a not so attractive (his words, not mine) DVD collection of Hitchcock's films, London based designer Ryan Tym decided it was up to him to give a proper graphic design to the cases. His passion for branding and typography really comes through in this re-designed edition of covers (that are also being sold in a limited edition series of prints) that embodies the bold character of Hitchcock's films and also as a way to commemorate the 90 year anniversary of the director's work. Each design features an iconic image related to the film it represents and includes a bold typographic title, all with a very straight-forward look in black, grey and red. It is definitely an appropriate approach to portray the spirit of the filmmaker's work- one that opts for a strong impression using the minimum elements.
