American movie posters, for the most part, follow some pretty basic style guidelines and showcase the standard corporate imagery. Things in Poland couldn't be more different. Polish designers take movie poster design to a whole new (and often bizarre) level with incredible dramatic license. This creativity, which is helped by not having to get corporate approval, results in some of the most surreal and beautiful film posters out there. Some designs are obvious, and some seem completely abstract, with images that have virtually nothing to do with the original picture. We love them.

Bacteria Creates the First Living Google Logo

Dr. Edward Johnson, chairman of Microbiology and Molecular Cell Biology at Eastern Virginia Medical School, and doctorial candidate Clayton Wright grew the Google logo sign using bacteria. Johnson's son, a graduate of NYU’s film school, popped a video of the process on Google’s Demo Slam site this week. Johnson said he hopes the video will inspire young budding scientists.

Google Art Project is the latest announcement from the search masters, and it is an incredible one. The site takes you to a museum, offering high-resolution close-ups of approximately 1,000 works of art and tours of at least 17 museums.
