Wegmans Settles With Walgreens Over Logo Dispute
Wegmans Markets is settling a lawsuit filed against them by Walgreens. In November, Walgreens claimed Wegmans was infringing on trademarks by using the Circle W symbol. They had argued that Wegmans’ use of the logo infringed on the trademark for its own “Flying W” logo and could confuse consumers.
Victor Hertz's Honest Logos
Victor Hertz is a 28-year-old graphic designer from Sweden, and he is making a name for himself with these cheeky (and honest) re-imaginings of legendary corporate logos. In an interview with Newslite, Hertz said most of the time is spent coming up with the concept for each logo, the actual re-design takes just minutes.
Twitter Redesigns Their Homepage
The Twitter homepage has already gone through a handful of changes in it's five year life, and this latest one makes an attempt to portray Twitter as a global communication entity. Which I suppose, it is. Twitter co-founder Evan Williams tweeted the following message after the changes went live:

Yankees Logo Goes To Court
A woman in New York is taking the city's legendary baseball team, the Yankees, to court. She is claiming that she owns the copyright to the iconic ‘bat in a hat’ logo that the Yankees have used since 1936, according to several reports.
Tanit Buday says her uncle, Kenneth Timur, designed the famous logo, but was never compensated. Now, she want the Yankees to fork over all the money they've earned selling products that sport the logo, according to a report on Reuters.
Google Earth Builder
Today Google announced an exciting new product called Google Earth Builder. They say its purpose is to assist businesses process and handle geographic data, taking the pressure off of private servers. "It lets you upload, process, and store your geospatial data in our cloud," Google Enterprise Blog explained. "No technical expertise or GIS training is required."
